Azaghal : Mustamaa

Azaghal : Mustamaa

Band name: Azaghal

I would like to begin this review, by saying that Azaghal makes the music that stands closest to my heart. The essence of evil and coldness that enwraps this album is jaw dropping. Rarely have I stumbled on such a wicked piece of labour. Satan must be pleased. Azaghal undoubtedly suffers from a case of Darkthrone worship, and this is proudly shown throughout the record… Actually, that is not such a bad thing; things that make you want to put on one of your old Darkthrone albums should be praised. Still, a little creativity wouldn’t go amiss. As for the musicianship and vocals, Azaghal plays

Azaghal : Helvetin yhdeksän piiriä

Band name: Azaghal

From the first track of this CD you can tell it is something special, amazing guitar and drum work and good harsh vocals await, I had been waiting for this CD for a long time, I was not dissapointed. Track one is full on black metal but quite short, I guess in order to wet your appitite, and it does just that! Harsh vocals are superb! The next track starts suddenlly with what sounds like a pained scream, leading into another with heavy guitar and drums, my only problem here is how hard it is to hear the bass. After these screams some melody comes into it playing in the background and giving

Azaghal : Of Beasts and Vulture

Band name: Azaghal

They are always black metal and they are always incredibly personal in doing it but they grew up and that’s normal. Aside the production, also the technical level is remarkable is growth. Mustamaa was a furious mixture of punk and black metal and that was great for its originality. Here, on the new album Of Beasts and Vultures, the band continued its way to a far faster and more polished sound in order to keep always high the extremism and they partially achieved the goal. “The Infernal One” has easily recognizable riffs while the drumming is always on blast beats. The various stops by the

Azaghal : Codex Antitheus

Azaghal : Codex Antitheus

Band name: Azaghal

Just to start: the BEST album of Azaghal. Two reasons for that, the first is the clean vocals are very well used! It’s just amazing! On the opening song, Agios O Baphomet the choir singing “Agioooooooooos O Baphomet, Agioooooooooos O Sathanas” is something great! And the other reason is the very good and complex guitar solos! Just incredible, sometimes they appear to be very short, but they still remain great! Yes, the guitar work is a highlight on this release, well done, very fast and heavy, inputting creative riffs and awesome solos. Always making what the Black Metal should sounds like.
