It's almost Halloween as I'm writing this and that holiday may prompt many listeners to listen to some of their favorite albums/bands that remind them of Halloween, because it's a very fitting thing to do for that time of year. Such bands can be anything from Hecate Enthroned, to early Graveland, to Amaka Hahina. But if you want to add more to your arsenal and get in touch with the holiday spirit, then I would definitely advise you to check out Carach Angren's first EP, Ethereal Veiled Existence. Ethereal Veiled Existence is a good example of symphonic black/gothic metal. The music is rich,

Carach Angren : Lammendam

Band name: Carach Angren

Carach Angren's Lammendam will forever be one of the best symphonic black metal albums of all time, to sum up this review from the beginning. I heard some positive reviews from this album and never heard of this band, and when I first gave it a real listen I was completely blown away. This album completely submerses you into the story they tell, and for only a three man band they have an immense sound. The way they tell stories is both a haunting and a theatrical experience of symphonic black metal. The structure of this concept album is great. It opens up with with a nice intro that brings

Oh, a band's second album. You see here if they're really skilled, just mediocre, or simply put, a plain snore fest. Carach Angren just proved me, once more, that they are not only worth a mention, but also a good recognition across Europe.Using their tried and tested formula, plus a nautical curse, they have, once again, created another masterpiece, entitled "Death Came Through A Phantom Ship". Like "Lammendam", the music doesn't aim to put the listener to a hypnotizing trance (the "Darkthrone Style" of black metal),and instead sets their listeners in the mood to listen to their songs. Carach Angren : Where the Corpses Sink Forever

Carach Angren : Where the Corpses Sink Forever

Band name: Carach Angren

Carach Angren had already released a demo, an ep and two incredibly haunting and well-received full-length albums, but now after changing their record label from Maddening Media to Season of Mist, they have released yet another record. Though that the production and the sound of Carach Angren hasn't dramatically changed, it does feel a little bit different, like maybe the guitar sound is a tiny bit less powerful. On the other hand, Namtar's drums and Ardek's orchestration don't lack any power. They actually sound stronger than on their previous album, Death Came Through A Phantom Ship.
